The PHBC sends a big shout out to the Yarra Bay Sailing Club in Le Perouse for their very kind donation of five fully rigged Sabot Sailing Dinghies to add to our growing fleet of sailing and rowing classics. We aim to use these dinghies to teach our participants how to sail and what a excellent little boat to start in. Designed in 1939 these little boats have been the nursery for countless world class sailors and continue as one of worlds largest and best known dinghy fleets. Lets hope PHBC sail training can kick start a few of our course participants into the unique character building world of wind and water.

Mission Statement The proposal is to engage inclusive social enterprise in restoring the ʻJorgenJorgensonʼ, one of only four known replicas of the Gokstad Viking ship, to authentic sailing condition; to operate it as an ongoing mentoring, sail-cadetship and leadership training enterprise and to make a documentary film of the entire process. The Pyrmont Heritage Boating Club has strong established links with schools, colleges, youth mentoring programs,Job-Search and TAFE outreach training. The Club intends to use these established links to restore and operate the vessel, and create new links with film and television students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, in order to create a broadcast quality “reality” documentary. A social media community hub will be established using YouTube, Face Book and Twitter.
